Selenite comes in many forms—Satin Spar Selenite, Optical Selenite, and Desert Rose/Gypsum Rose. Satin Spar Selenite is the fibrous form of Selenite that I offer for sale here; it is comprised of long "fibers" which look like optical light fibers. It has a white satin luminescence to it that partially shows in the photos below but is far more spectacular when you see it "live". The Selenite is named after Selene, the Moon Goddess of ancient Greece. Satin Spar Selenite and Optical Selenite (which includes the Fishtail Selenite) are as white and reflective of light as the moon. The name fits! -
