Herderite and Hydroxylherderite differ ever so slightly in chemical makeup. Herderite is CaBe[(F,OH)|PO4]. Hydroxylherderite is CaBe[(OH,F)|PO4]. Herderite is fluorine-dominant, and the Hydroxylherderite is hydroxyl-dominant. See the first parentheses inside the brackets in each chemical formula. Interestingly enough, Herderite only comes in white/clear, pale yellow, or greenish-white. Hydroxylherderite comes in white/clear, gray, brown, pale yellow, greenish white, light blue, and purple. Melody does not differentiate between the two.
