RAVEN: The message of Raven is : Magick and Mystery

From Lee – Once so revered, but now sometimes feared. In recent times Raven has been thought to symbolize ill omens and misfortune, possibly because of its black plumage, but mainly because people saw not the warning.

However, in Ancient Greece, Raven was sacred to Apollo and messenger to the gods. All over the world Raven has either been revered as a god or seen as bringing a warning of dangers. Odin carried a raven on each shoulder so that he would see and hear more clearly. Raven was sacred to the Druids and seen as offering initiation, protection and the gift of prophecy. They were seen as bringing healing on a very deep level to help resolve conflicts long buried. Bards were allowed to wear a cloak of raven feathers to signify their mastery of their studies.

These intelligent and social birds are thought to mate for life. They are playful and make, as well as use, tools to obtain food. They are not intimidated by other birds, and are very fast and wary of intruders. Raven sees what is around, above and below them.

Messenger, keeper of secrets, magic and mystery. Raven asks that you allow the Magick and Mystery of life to flow through you.
