Native American Sterling Silver Laguna Agate Pendant #1 measure approximately 1 3/8" x 15/16" x 3/16" (36mm x 24mm x 4mm) without the silver loop/bale and weighs 7.3 grams. This rare Agate is beautifully translucent. The cabochon itself measures 24mm x 18mm x 3mm and weighs 2.8 grams. The back of this pendant is open. This a beautiful Laguna Agate cabochon that has been set in Sterling Silver by Virgil Nez of the Navajo/Diné tribe, and these pieces are signed with Virgil's mark. I hand chose this cabochon. The backs are often covered in Diné jewelry. Sawdust is often used to keep the crystal in place, and that is why very often the backs are covered. Virgil does some open backs as well if the crystal needs to have light shine through it.
